Ownership & copyright

All songs created through Held in Song are original works composed by Bronchoe Creation CIC. We retain full copyright and master ownership of every track unless a separate written rights agreement has been signed and agreed before or during the commission.

Commissioning a song does not transfer copyright. What you receive is a licence to use the song under the terms described below.

Personal use licence

Unless otherwise agreed, every song is delivered under a personal use licence. This means:

  • You may share the song freely on personal social media, messaging, and personal platforms.
  • You may use it for private events (birthdays, weddings, memorials, personal occasions).
  • You must credit Bronchoe Creation CIC / Held in Song wherever the song is shared publicly. The specific credit format will be confirmed with your delivery.
  • The song may not be used for any commercial purpose without a separate commercial licence.

Commercial use licence

Commercial use means any use that directly or indirectly generates revenue or promotes a product, service, or brand. This includes but is not limited to: monetised YouTube or social content, brand deals, paid advertising, business promotion, sync licensing, and content created on behalf of a company or organisation.

For most individual creators and small personal projects, commercial use is available at no extra charge — provided credit is given to Bronchoe Creation CIC / Held in Song wherever the song is used, and commercial intent was declared at the time of commissioning via the brief form.

For businesses, agencies, or organisations with more than 2 people, a separate commercial licence agreement is required before the song is used commercially. We will contact you to discuss terms after your brief is submitted. This does not automatically mean a higher price — most cases are straightforward — but it must be agreed in writing before commercial use begins.

Uses that require prior written agreement

The following uses are not permitted under any standard licence — personal or commercial — and require you to contact us at support@heldinsong.com before commissioning or using any track for this purpose:

  • Advertising of any kind — including paid ads, sponsored content, promotional campaigns, and brand advertisements, regardless of platform or scale.
  • Political content of any nature — including campaign material, party political broadcasts, political advocacy, and election-related content.

If you are unsure whether your intended use falls into either category, email us first. We are happy to discuss — we just need to agree it in writing before the song is used.

Prohibited uses — no exceptions

Our songs may not be used in connection with any content, material, or cause that:

  • Incites hatred toward any person or group on the basis of race, religion, gender, sexuality, nationality, disability, or any other characteristic.
  • Promotes, glorifies, or facilitates violence or discrimination.
  • Is designed to harass, threaten, or harm any individual or community.

Any licence is immediately void if the song is used in connection with prohibited content. We reserve the right to take appropriate action, including legal steps, where necessary.

Turnaround & delivery

Standard turnaround is approximately 3 working days per track from the point your completed brief is received. Complex or multi-song orders may take longer — we will communicate expected timelines with you directly.

Guided Song Build orders (tier 90) are handled through a direct session process and timelines are agreed individually.

Refinements

Each tier includes a set number of refinement rounds. These are detailed on the pricing page. Refinements must be requested within 14 days of delivery. We will always work with you to get the song right within the agreed scope.

Refunds

If we are unable to deliver your song, you will receive a full refund. Once a song has been delivered, refunds are not available — but we will always work through the agreed refinement process to make it right. If you have a concern, contact us directly.
